A knowledge test is an exam that, as the name suggests, consists of an oral or theoretical exam and a practical test. Before the exam, you will receive comprehensive preparation in a dedicated course. The duration of this preparation may vary depending on the federal state and the provider. In some cases, it may be possible to begin the preparatory course with a B1 language certificate, but a B2 language certificate is usually required.

What is a knowledge test?

The deficiency notice provides more detailed information about which specific aspects are tested in the practical and oral parts of the exam. Typically, candidates with regular training (four years of secondary school) are tested in the practical exam with two nursing situations, while those undergoing retraining (two years of secondary school) are tested with four nursing situations.
